Brownsberg 1 day

Approximately 130 km from Paramaribo, in the midst of the jungle lays the Brownsberg nature reserve at a height of 500 meters. The Mazaroni plateau offers you a spectacular view over the Brokopondo Lake. Brisk walks in the forest take you to various waterfalls where you can enjoy fantastic panoramas of the Amazon rainforest.

Nickerie / Bigi Pan

You will depart from Paramaribo and drive to Nieuw Nickerie on the engaging East-West connecting road. In Nieuw Nickerie you will learn about the rice culture, the market and Zeedijk (sea dike). After your overnight stay at the Residence Inn Nickerie, you will visit Bigi Pan, a protected nature area, by boat where you can observe numerous coastal birds such as the beautiful red-colored Ibis.

Galibi 2 day

At the mouth of the Marowijne River, on a beautiful sandy beach, you will find the settlement of 750
Amerindians of the Kalinja tribe (the Caraïbs) who live mainly off of fishery and tourism. In the
laying season (Feb-Aug), various widely known and protected sea-turtles come here to nest and lay
their eggs, a unique natural phenomena which you will find unforgettable. Outside the laying season you will enjoy traditional singing and dancing from the local Amerindians.

Arts & Crafts / Colakreek

The tour departs from Paramaribo via the highway leading to the international “Johan Adolf Pengel” airport, at a distance of 50 km from Paramaribo. You will visit a camp where you will witness how handicraft is made by the Maroons in the traditional manner as well as an Amerindian pottery.

Commewijne River Cruise

The district of Commewijne lies along the Commewijne River, just across from the capital Paramaribo.
This tour takes you along the mostly inactive and abandoned former colonial plantations.
A visit to the open air museum at Nieuw Amsterdam and Frederiksdorp, with it's recently restored buildings, will take you back in time.

The Commewijne River is also an
important source of income for most fishermen that live in the area.
